Jennifer Hunt ran her first 5k at the 2015 Race for the Cure in honor of her mom who lost her battle with breast cancer nine years ago.

“My mom was diagnosed on her 52nd birthday and lost her battle six years later. I promised her I would do everything I could to reduce my risk of breast cancer so when I discovered the 2015 Race was scheduled on my 42nd birthday, I knew it was time to start running. I'm also inspired by my cousin Lisa Lods and dear friend Bridget Larrabee who were diagnosed in their early 40s. These strong-willed, amazing women fought hard and are in remission!”
