Komen Connecticut cherishes and honors our Survivors…our heroes. You are our inspiration and the reason we celebrate on Race Day! It is our promise to provide encouragement and hope to the women and men living with breast cancer from the newly diagnosed to long-term Survivors, their families and friends.
SPECIAL WAYS WE HONOR SURVIVORS ON RACE DAY
8:30 am Survivor Breakfast opens 9:00 am Survivor Presentation at the Survivor Breakfast Tent 9:45 am Survivor Photo 10:00 am Survivor Parade of Pink!
NEW: Parade of Pink All Survivors are encouraged to participate in our first Parade of Pink, which will begin right after the Survivor Photo is taken outside the Survivor Breakfast. During this procession, survivors will line up by the number of years since their diagnosis and walk with fellow survivors to the starting line of the 4K. You do not need to participate in the 4K to be in the parade we encourage all survivors to participate.
Survivor Presentation & Photo The Survivor Presentation and Photo is scheduled to begin at 9:00 am at the Survivor Breakfast Tent. Right after the presentation, all Survivors will have their photo taken right outside the Survivor Breakfast tent.
Survivor Breakfast A complimentary continental breakfast will be served to all registered Survivors beginning at 8:30 am. Here is an opportunity to greet fellow survivors, smile and hug one another as we celebrate together!
Survivor Gift We have a beautiful gift for each Survivor this year! Juliska, located in Stamford, CT, designs and produces tableware. Juliska has generously donated pieces from their Berry and Thread collection which artfully layers scallop and round shapes. Thank you to Juliska!
Honor Your Loved Ones Join us in honoring your loved ones by wearing our unique “In Celebration Of” and “In Memory Of” back signs. These special signs are free and will be available on Race Day. The signs are sponsored by Zeta Tau Alpha and RE/MAX.
Your T-shirt and Pink Hat! Register as Breast Cancer Survivor and receive a special Pink Survivor T-Shirt and Pink Hat courtesy of Zeta Tau Alpha and RE/MAX. Wear these items on Race day to celebrate your survivorship. The Komen Connecticut Race for the Cure is a celebration and tribute to you for meeting the challenges of breast cancer. Come and celebrate your strength and courage as we applaud all who have faced this challenge.
